Ingredients-
1. 500 grams mutton
2. 2 cups toor dal
3. 5-6 onions
4. 2 tomatoes
5. 1 bay leaf
6. 2 teaspoons coriander powder
7. 2 teaspoons jeera powder
8. 2 teaspoons ginger garlic paste
9. 2 green chillies
10. 2 teaspoons red chilli powder
11. 1 teaspoon tumeric powder
12. 2 teaspoons garam masala
13. 2 tablespoons fresh coriander
14. Oil
15. Salt
Cooking Instructions-
Pressure cook the mutton and dal along with some salt and tumeric for 6-7 whistles.
Keep aside.
In a pan deep fry some onions slices and keep aside for garnishing.
In the same pan heat 2 tablespoons of oil. Then add a bay leaf along with roughly chopped onions and cook for 5-6 minutes.
Add ginger, garlic and green chili paste and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add tomatoes along with some salt and cook till the oil starts separating from the onion and tomato paste.
This will take some time.
To the paste add coriander powder, jeera powder, turmeric , red chili powder, garlic masala and salt.
Cook the spices for a few minutes.
Then add the pressure cooked mutton and dal. Mix well and simmer for 10-15 minutes on low flame.
Garnish with fresh coriander.
Serve with roti or rice.
