Hummus


Five ingredient recipe


(salt, pepper and oil are free ingredients)


Hummus is a Middle Eastern dip made with chick peas/Channa. It is served with pita bread but it tastes equally yummy with regular bread, chips or fresh cut vegetables.


Ingredients-

 1. 1 cup boiled chick peas(channa)
 2. 2 cloves garlic
 3. 2-3 tablespoon tahini paste
 4. 1 teaspoon paprika
 5. Salt 

Cooking instructions-

For the tahini paste-

A paste made from seasame seeds and olive oil. Dry roast 1/2 cup seasame seeds in a pan. 

Let the seeds cool. 

In a mixer blend the sesame seeds,  gently add 2 tablespoons of olive oil till a smooth paste is formed.

For the hummus-

Pressure cook the chick peas for 5-6 whistles. Or till the chick peas are mushy.

Once cooled blend to a smooth paste using a blender or mixer, along with 2 cloves of garlic and salt.

Sprinkle with one teaspoon of paprika and 2 teaspoons of olive oil.

Yummy hummes is ready.
